At the former St Agatha convent, you can learn about important icons of the country's history. It is where Prince William of Orange spent his last years and was murdered by Balthasar Gerards in 1584. The famous bullet holes in the Murder Hall can be seen up close. The museum also focuses on the origins of the famous Delft Blue, the Delft Masters and the book chest from the estate of Hugo de Groot's family.

The Royal Delft pottery factory has been producing the famous Delft Blue since 1653. At the museum, you can admire the extraordinary collection and learn about the craft and production techniques in the factory. Enjoy a cup of coffee or extensive high tea in the beautiful courtyard garden. Bear in mind that there are extra crowds during the tulip season. We recommend visiting outside this period.

The Botanical Garden is part of TU Delft where research on plants has been carried out for more than 100 years. The garden and greenhouses offer a wide variety of wild and tropical plants. It is a delight to walk through the garden during late spring and summer. Feel free to bring a book then, to sit on a bench and enjoy the peace and quiet and birds. It is small in size and can be visited with Museum Card.

The small-scale Vermeer Centre will give you a good impression of the complete work and life of master painter Johannes Vermeer. Don't expect real artworks by the painter, as the centre only has simple replicas of all his works. The free audio tour is a good addition when you visit the centre.

On the beautiful Koornmarkt stands the former home of collector and painter Paul Tétar van Elven. He lived there from 1864 to 1894 and is now set up as a museum. Step 120 years back in time in the beautifully decorated rooms and admire the beautiful collection. A small charming museum and authentic museum in the centre of Delft.
