This tour focusses on the life of William of Orange, nicknamed William the Silent. He is the founder of The Netherlands and ‘Father of the Fatherland’. The last years of his life he lived in Delft until he was murdered in 1584. Since that time the city of Delft has a very strong relationship with the House of Orange. Our guide will share stories about his life in 16th century Delft and show locations that are connected to the Dutch Royal Family.
You have the option to visit the New Church, the final resting place of the House of Orange. Inside you can also see the beautiful mausoleum for our Founding Father. Our guide will explain everything about the royal burial moment en church monuments. Depending on your budget you can visit Museum Prinsenhof Delft. The location where the Prince lived and where he was was assassinated in 1584.
